Description
UNIV®–AP is a high-quality, premixed, ready-to-use adhesive compound featuring Silica (SiO2 98%+). This cement-based adhesive is designed to be mixed with water to create a high-strength, thixotropic mortar. It is ideal for application over aerated lightweight concrete, fly ash bricks, cement hollow blocks, cellular concrete blocks, or for smoothing over block work surfaces in layers ranging from 2 mm to 8 mm thickness. The thin jointing provides high adhesion, enhancing the load-bearing capacity of masonry to meet or exceed national and international standards.

Reference Standard
  • IS 4031:1988 Part 8

Area of Application
UNIV®–AP can be applied to
  • Brick
  • Concrete block
  • AAC block
  • Fly ash block
  • Concrete surfaces

Suitable for both interior and exterior use, it prepares a thin bed adhesive for AAC, ALC, and cellular concrete blocks.

Benefits

  • High Compressive Strength: Achieves compressive strengths of 12.1–14.5 MPa within 2 days, and 19.1–23.8 MPa and 34.1–36.9 MPa at 7 and 28 days respectively.
  • Time-Saving: Premixed formula eliminates the need for stacking and mixing individual materials, ensuring timely project completion.
  • Easy Application: Simply add water on-site for a quick and easy fitting process. No curing is required after block work is completed.
  • Better Coverage: Ensures efficient use of material.
  • Eco-Friendly: Contains no fly ash or slag.

Limitations or Restrictions

  • Avoid direct application to gypsum plaster or boards, fiber cement boards, drywall partitions, plywood, chipboard, particleboard, decorative laminates, resilient flooring, metal, plastic, deformable surfaces, or surfaces subject to vibrations.
  • Not suitable for fixing artificial, nano, engineered stone, composites, or metal tiles.

How toApply: -
Surface Preparation- Prepare the surfaces before the UNIV®-AP application by removing oil, bond inhibiting agents, dirt, dust and laitance.
The cleaning can be carried out with suitable methods like by using wire brush, water jetting, mopping, etc.

Mixing- UNIV®-AP requires 20% to 22% of Normal Water by weight of material (Example for 40kg Bag requires 8 to 9 LitreWater.)
Mix UNIV®-AP to the measured quantity of water using mechanical stirring for 2-3 minutes to ensure a consistentlump-free mixture.

Application- UNIV®-APapply on both surfaces of blocks using 6 mm notch or mortar trowels spatula. Place the blocks on the surface then move it in perpendicular direction to notches.
Tap the gently using wooden block or rubber mallet. Remove the excess adhesive using damp cloth / sponge.

Curing
Due to Silica Base compound the temperature of bonding agent low & it gives fast curing, Its Required time for Settlement is 24 Hr.

Precaution–safety
As per health & safety rules. Use of safety accessories is required, which includes:
a) Safety gloves
b) Safety goggles
c) Dust &nose mask
d) Helmet

In case of accidental contact with eyes of either dry or wet mix, immediately wash your hands; make sure your hands are clean and then wash your eyes with clean water and if required, seek medical assistance.

Avoid breathing dust.
